Questions
What happens after winning an auction?
You’ve exchanged. You pay the deposit (often 10%) on the day and must complete by the deadline, often 28 days.
Do I need a solicitor before the auction?
It’s strongly advised. The legal pack can contain issues that are hard to undo after the hammer falls.
Can I get a mortgage for an auction?
Sometimes, but the deadline is tight. Bridging finance is often used.
