Surveys explained
Mortgage valuation
Done for your lender to check the property is worth what they’re lending. It isn’t a survey.
Level 1 survey
A basic condition report, suited to newer, conventional homes in good condition.
Level 2 survey
The most common choice. Flags visible defects and issues needing attention.
Level 3 building survey
The most detailed. For older, larger, altered or unusual properties.
When a survey helps
Almost always worth it, especially for older homes or anything that’s been extended.
If problems are found
